Hello readers!
Yes, I know it has been a while since my last post, but rather than make excuses of where I have been, let's just jump right into this new topic....songs to workout to.
What's that you say? Workout songs from Big Al? You must be joking. Well I am happy to say dear reader I am not joking (for once). While on my hiatus I have been riding my bike. If you are like me, you know the importance of having some great music to motivate you in your workouts. Now I have been accused of only liking certain rock and roll artists (admittedly Bruce Springsteen), but what I want to share with you are some random, and I mean random songs I have on my bike riding playlist. I will give you the name of the song, artist and album on which you can find the song, in case you want to add to your own playlist. And because I am so generous I will give you a "two-fer" of the same artists.
So are you ready? Let's lace up those sneakers......
Let me start with The Boss (and yes he gets three songs)
First, two lesser known songs from Springsteen the first "Raise Your Hand" can be found on the Live '75-'85 box set.
Raise Your Hand
Next is "She's The One", it can be found on the Born To Run album, but I highly recommend if you like it to try to find a live version.
She's The One
Finally from the Boss is "I'm Going Down" from the Born in the U.S.A. album, each time I hear this song my legs pump just a little faster to the beat.
I'm Going Down
Now it is time to get random:
From the soundtrack to Little Shop of Horrors I encourage you to check out:
Feed Me (Git It)
Dentist
From Weezer both can found on their Red Album
The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived
Pork and Beans
From Kiss
New York Groove from Ace Frehley's 1978 solo album
I Was Made For Loving You from the 1979 Kiss album Dynasty
From Lady Gaga (yes I like her, get over it) both can be found on her latest release Born This Way
You and I
Edge of Glory
David Bowie (who, let's face was Lady Gaga before there was a Lady Gaga)
Modern Love from 1983's Let's Dance
Rebel Rebel from 1974's Diamond Dogs
Other notable songs to mention:
Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon
Sweet Jane by The Velvet Underground
Just Fine by Mary J. Blige
I Wanna Be Sedated by The Ramones
Dynamite by Taio Cruz
Tonight I'm Lovin You by Enrique Iglesias
So there you have it readers just a few songs on my current bike ride playlist (and I have spared you from Katy Perry and even more Springsteen) I recommend that if you like to sing while running or riding, be careful not to swallow a bug as I did today.
Readers before I sign off I need your help! Though I really like them, these songs won't get me by forever! What songs do you listen to when you are burning calories?
Now I am off to pedal my heart out, until next time!
